Presonus Studio One, a sound recording software package, was a grand prize drawing at the Catholicon 2011 in Houston, Texas. The lucky winner of this fabulous prize was none other than me, MidsouthCatholic.

This past weekend was great! Filled with sharing and learning of the New Evangelization, at Catholicon 2011 in Houston, Texas.  Coming from all over the United States, a faithful gathering of devoted, trying to reach out and broaden their ideas, concepts and concerns of the Catholic Church’s future in this new Digital Age.

While on the weekend I was able to meet the author of “The Church And New Media”, Brandon Vogt.  Brandon was engaging everyone in conversation, and I could see the holy Spirit working among them. I was tweeting with Neal Schaffer of Windmill Networking about the Catholicon event and Neal asked if I would be willing to write as a guest blogger. I quickly told him about Brandon and his new release of “The Church and New Media” and offered to relay Mr. Vogt to him.  I was excited when Neal Schaffer agreed.

Matthew Warner was a big hit! As an MC for the Catholicon, Matthew was very professional but at the same time made the crowd feel at home. I hope to have Matthew Warner out to the Memphis area soon.

FatherZ was every bit of what I expected and more.  Fr. John Zuhlsdorf was very entertaining in the way he would present topics, but firm letting us know the seriousness of the situation for the Catholic Church and the New Evangelization. I was honored to have a free person conversations with Father, and was really excited at the banquet dinner on Saturday evening.

I decided to record on Ustream FatherZ’s speech he gave after everyone enjoyed the fine dinning from the InterContinental Hotel, in Houston. As Father began his talk, the documents that he shares with us were remarkably familiar!  My blog post on Brandon Vogt and his interview on SQPN’s Catholic Weekend show, covered the same documents. This is the Ustream video! Remember to have mercy on me, I was using a hand-held LG mobile phone, the Thrive by ATT. Not the greatest way of remembering moments, but the most affordable! The LG cell was a gift from a friend of mine. I am great full for the phone, but even more so for my friendship.

Now back to the Presonus, Studio One software!

Jeff Blackwell, an audio engineer and voice over talent was giving a session at the Clarecamps on recording.  Jeff was dynamic in the way he shared the basics of recording, and at the same time kept everyone laughing with his brief stories from his career.

In the Expo area, Mr. Blackwell had a small bowl sitting out, and was collecting entrees for a give-away.  Excitingly it was a software package from Presonus, Studio One.  I dropped my entree in and prayed!

On Sunday after morning prayer, there was another session on Q’s and A’s. Afterward the drawing for the Studio One software occurred.  I wasn’t paying much attention,… I was talking with a new friend, discussing how my blog post on “The New Evangelization” jumped up to the top ten on Yahoo.com for that particular search term, “The New Evangelization.”

All of a sudden I heard Joshua calling my name!  WOW, I couldn’t believe it!

I have decided to donate the software to Fr. James Blount, and his mission down in Belize. I know they are close to opening their doors and turning on the switch of their new facility.

Praise the Lord, for all his blessings this past weekend! And thanks to the Catholic Underground getting things started, and allowing us to participate in such a spirit filled weekend.  CATHOLICON!
