Conflict of Science and Religion

This video of Fr. Barron, from the Word On Fire ministry, covers the always interesting conflict of science and religion, along with some other interesting topics.  This is definitely one of the more entertaining videos that is drawing a wide variety online viewers. Father Barron starts off taking about atheist and belief and shares that he often gets hundreds of comments from them, and mostly on the negative side.  The conversation leads to four topics of heresies he finds on YouTube, which in this short video he quickly covers two of the four.

Four Topics

  • Scientism
  • Ecclesial Angelism
  • Biblical Fundamentalism
  • Marcionism

This is a two-part video, and you will have to watch both to get the full story. If you have watched the first one, you will know why I titled this blog post “Conflict of Science and Religion.” With the term philosophy tossed in the mix of conversation, you will find this 9 min video very entertaining, as Fr. Barron draws a picture in your mind.

Now let’s watch the 2nd part!

I hope you found Fr. Barron’s video enriching and useful, while leaving you with a desire to view more of his Word On Fire YouTube videos.

Something to ponder, something to pray.

  1. Mike,
That was a great post. I enjoy this type of content. I would enjoy a little more commentary from you as far as a set up to what Fr. B is saying. If someone doesn’t watch the entire video, maybe they can still walk away with something from your opinion of the main idea.
